Beautiful machine!  You really added a lot of detail, the rivets and welds add a lot of realism.  Looking at the close up pictures I feel like I am looking at the actual boat.  Well done!
Regards,
Brian

Amazing! well done, first class rate!
As Brian said, the weathering and the many details make it look like a real machine, am impressed!
Can we have more shots of the turret's cramped deck?
Would you like to share painting tips and the weathering technique you used?
Cheers, and congrats!

Thanks for your kind words Brian and SG.I'm happy you like it.Its my first finished sub so I wasn't sure about weathering.Usually I'm doing airplanes .I'm watching this website for 1,5 year,is great site,so many information about submarines and inspirating works.
SG-I'm done most of weathering with airbrush and tamiya acrylic paints including green and base for rust stains..Then I'm use mig's oil paints to simulate rust stains. After that few thin coats of future varnish then I'm add stains with few mixed oil paints and after that wash  with dark grey and bit dark brown oil paint.Varnish again and in the end more rusty stains but now with dark brown oil paint. My english is not very good so im sorry if is there anything you not understand.I don't know explain it better. :'( Oh and wooden deck is from real wood and painted with oil paints. After that many coats of varnish and weathered with hairspray technique.
I will add more pictures for you but I don't know what you mean by turret's cramped deck.  :-[
I'm trying to upload pictures here but pictures is Jpeg and this forum can't load this type of pictures.

Really nice work!

This forum CAN handle JPG, just not huge ones. Unless there is some strange problem. What sort of errors were you getting? I'll try to fix - apologies!

Dear unreal86,

Could you say a few words about this picture (I just found mentions here: http://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=176&t=69300).

Is it new CMK interior section for VII? Or it's another brand?

Regards.

as much as i picked up foreign languages from building kits (instructions), i think partial translation would be:

"i am building this whenever i have time / and  not tired, but neverthless i am finishing up motor and torpedo section"

i would not take bullet for this translation, but i think it is scratchbuilt, and if it will reach edition through CMK, the floor would probably not be a mesh, more solid piece with a mesh-like relief, like on theirs similar editions.

its a nice representation of the torpedo room though, since the engine room is from CMK type VII kit, i am assuming that the torpedo room is for the VII too, countours match roughly up with those from my design (which by the way is still on halt due academical work) :)

Hi there,

First of all, many thanks for your feedback.

So, in this case I have only two choices:

1) Waiting for new CMK releases
2) Waiting for Marko's 3D printing  ;)

Regards.

What a beautiful built unreal86! I was reading or checking on the picture in the czech forum there.

How did you do the interior of conning tower? Is it completely scratch built? Piping, exhaust, silencer etc.

(Old thread, but I give it a try as my XXIII is on the table for the moment.)

Best regards,

Anders
