I just need to paint something quick. ;D
Opel Olympia Cabriolet from Bronco driving into the river.
I will use acrylic display case from Tamiya to build this little scene on.
Few hours of work got me here.

Front bumper from scratch, figure is a mix of Miniart /legs/, Tamiya /torso/ and Hornet /hands and head.
Tip of the exhaust pipe is made of brass tubing- flattened on the end to imitate the fishtail style exhaust.
Gearstick from brass wire.

Tremendous job so far Siera!

What did you use for the lights? They do not appear to parts cut from a cigarette lighter...guessing CD case?

Lights are from the kit.
Lenses are painted Tamiya Clear Orange, and Red.
Trick is to paint the whole light in the lens color, and then silver under the base color.

At least you have a magazine shwing your stuff to the world!

That bucket is magnificent! I have GOT do mess around with more PE soldering to advance my skills (or just mess them!).

Now, the crated things look awesome, the bucket things - vitamin capsules? and I guess the green things are from putty, and will be bread loaves? They look awesome.

Thanks TRM- i did enjoy the trip to Spain vary much. Fishing was slow, but i located some big carp in that river, when i say big i mean big- some were about 60 lb for sure. Im going back there next year to try better the cat record, and possibly catch some of these carp.

Dougie- the fish was small by the standards set by other anglers. Record of that stretch of the river is 224lb 10oz!  cought by Chris Trimmer in 2006. :o

Siara, what do you using for bait? How was your line setup? We don't have anything like catfish in New Zealand, we only have three fresh water sport fish, the Brown trout (Salmo trutta), Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and Quinnat salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha).

We have tried few different set ups. Halibut pellet on its own, halibut pellet with squid`s head, squid on its own on double hook set up. Hooklength was 220 lb braid. Main line 250 lb braid. The hooks were of the size 10/0.

True.
When livebaiting for catfish it is vary common to use the 4 lb carp as bait.
Pigs liver, or whole toad are also good alternatives.
Eels work good too.

Thanks Le Bosco.
I wanted to keep it compact, because this will be the first time im pouring water onto the base, and if anything goes wrong (touch wood it wooldn`t) the damage will be small. Theres a lot of things that can go wrong with water- it can cloud, it can sip into the base, it can melt the model etc.
If thing work out i have something in my head that is more complex, and with experiences from this build can lead to really nice dio.

Wink- i dont know what they make this grass from- some kind of fibres i guess. It is sold in tufts, so all the modeler can do is chose the color, and size, and glue it to the base. Simple. I was thinking in using the birds fethers for ferns, and im still experimenting with this- when im happy with the results i`ll show you all.

Hello Siara, first at all  impressive real loocking stuff. I can not mentioned what I like most, the texture of the mud or the car, the load, the driver (special his expression)... it is all perfect. Hope everything goes well with the water. Only one think I have.... should there not be a bit more disorder in the car .... I mean some potatoes on his knees would be suitable to his face emotion  :D

Im glad you all like it ladds. Thanks for positive feedback.
The product Realistic Water is easy to use, as long as we seal the ground, and are patient.

That was the first step in water making- second step is to produce the bow wave.
Im using the product called Water Effect from the same company.

Here it is after application- when dry it will be clear.

Siara,

1st, amazing! There is so much to like about this project!  Well done!

Second, is the water effect as translucent as it appears here?  I can see from the front edge, the "root" from above and from underneath.  If, and what I mean by this is, have you completely covered something by more than an inch (24mm) or so and can still clearly see what is beneath?  This project it spawning a idea for me now and I have never used this before.

Cheers!

Yes- the main body of the water is as clear, as it can get- but the wave in front of the car is still curing- you can see it is still slightly milky. It will be few more days, before i can take the final shots of the finished diorama.
When observed from different angles, you can see whats on the riverbed, which is a nice touch. Exactly the effect i was after.
Thats why i have scattered the old leaves, and same vegetation, aswell as some stones on it.
