So, already in 1937 Askania developed the automatic depth-keeping installation for the Walter U-Boat V-80. The installation was tested at the test-station in the September 1940, but never was installed the V-80.
The next installation was developed by Siemens for the Wa 201 U-Boat. Unfortunately the electric steering installation on this boat caused so many problems, that it had to be replaced with the mechanical steering gear. Such alteration made impossible the appliance of the automatic depth-keeping installation.
The Askania built in the 1941 next variant of the installation for the Walter U-Boat type WK 202, which was tested on the test-station in November 1942, but never built in the real boat.
For the type XXIII boats Askania developed installation designated MNT2, which was coupled with the aft diving planes (only the aft planes had electric drive, the forward were driven manually). There were plans to embed the system in the boats since U-2361. It is unknown, if this installation was tested in the real boat.
For the type XXI boats Askania developed two instalaltion - first one - Schwebeger
