My name is Stefano and i'm new to the forum. Am a long-time fan of uboats and I've been reading the forum, enriching my knowledge on the matter thanks to you all. Following this forum has re-awakened the always present passion for u-boat modelling.
am about to start working on a tiny 1/400 VII B boat (humble target to begin again modeling), which needs some superdetailng. I hope am posting in the right forum.
ok, now the questions:
-the L-shaped air trunks: mono-lateral or bi-lateral? i mean, on one side of the conning tower or both sides? "the wolfpack" book here at AMP states both sides, but many VII B kits just show the trunks on one side, usually the starboard one. Am confused. i found just a few pictures showing the air trunks on the port sides, but, of course, i've no idea of what the other side looked like..
-wind deflector "VII C style". i found just a few pictures with boats sporting it and have no idea of how the rest of the boat looked like -must choose a boat, get as many information and images as possible and modify my model so to look like it (since the turret of the kit am going to work on has a wind deflector, it would be painful to "chop it off" and re-style the turret like a "no deflector boat" .
Would anybody be as kind as to post me some profile drawings of both sides and an aerial view of a VII B turret? it would be an incredible "welcome gift" for me!
