Kettenwagen- project S/F 1/35
« on: 23 Oct , 2010, 05:40 »
I will post here continuation of the work on the Kettenwagen tractor.
It is the S/F project. My vision on the Vehrmacht tractor vehicle based on the Kubelwagen car.
Latest addition is the tool box- scratch built to fit on top of the fender.

Flak 38 from Dragon.
I reworked the welds around the base of the gun, as DML located the injection pins there- right in the middle of the weld.
The seat was scratch built, as the kit one is to narrow, and has a funny shape.

the PE details really lift it, but the base model is pretty impressive, too

Definitely LIKE! :o

Did you scratch build the barrel, kit supplied or aftermarket?

Looking forward to watching your paint applications!

Cheers!

2 out of 3 shields are almost ready. The rivets were sanded down and i will replace them with the Archer ones.
The spent shell basket soldered from wire, and will be wraped with the nylon mesh.

Wow! Also, I should have said, the extra detail rather than PE - of course it's scratch!

Great work Siara ! I like it a lot. Using a minimum aftermarkets makes always an interesting model.

Thanks guys! ;D

The Flak gun is now done, all the rivets were replaced by the Archer alternatives.

...and just for fun:

The whole gun is made of subasemblies for easier painting.

It is 1/35 Wink  ;D
I started painting the tractor.
First the primer Chaos Black, then the mix of 3 kolors for factory red.

Siara, why hairspray?
Best way to get the chipping done.
Soften the paint with the water, and it chips easy.

Thank you so much guys. Im glad you like it.
Here it is completed, apart from few guns, and few items of stovage.
The color of the tracks will be changed according to the color of the groundwork.
