Reference books for Type IIA
« on: 11 May , 2009, 10:34 »
Are there any good reference books for the Type IIA U-boat?

There are many excellent references for the popular Type VIIC (Warship Pictorials, Anatomy of the Ship, Shipcraft, etc.)  but where can we find pics/info on the Type IIA?

This in preparation for my build of the new 1/72 Special Navy Type IIA kit + the "of course it will be amazing" detail set from AMP.  :)

The "Vom Original zum Model" is the big one, and #3 U-Boot im Focus has some good photos.

Hi Timo,

It is a comprehensive book, with a wealth of information and many photos. There are over 50 photos of Type IIs in the book. It is quite expensive but you do get a lot of information for your money. If you can afford it, I'd recommend getting it.

Cheers,

Dougie
