Ribs in flood channel of IXC/40
« on: 06 Feb , 2017, 09:05 »
I need assistance, regarding the ribs within the main flood channel of U-190 (Type IXC/40).
I am nearing the stage where I have to install the ribbing.

What is the orientation of the ribs around the narrowed bow section?

a) perpendicular to the boat centerline
b) perpendicular to the outer hull

See the attached pictures to describe what I mean.

Judging from the rivet pattern on the model, I am inclined to believe the ribs are:
(a) perpendicular to the boat centerline

Glenn, going by the deck framing plan (below) it look like it 'perpendicular to the boat centerline'.
