Holes on Tower Front Typ VIIC

Dear All

i need you help again
can anyone tell what are this two holes on the tower front of Typ VIIC for .?
i could make out that the lower one are for the Typhone (the signal horn ) not sure !! can you connfirm this ??
but for what are the top big hole ??

Hello,

both are typhones. The lower one was removed after some boats.
Some later build boats had a connection for underwater refueling nearly at same position as lower typhon.

Hi,

isn't the upper hole the slot for passing ammo for 8,8 cm deck gun? If I remember correctly, when the "Man the deck gun" order was issued, the chain of crew members was created from the munition chamber under the officer's room, through the control room, conning tower up to the bridge. At the level of the bridge deck, in the forward part of the bridge fairing, there was a hole, which was used to pass the shells to the gunners (so there was no need to giving the ammo over the fairing).

The two holes David askedd are definetly for typhones.
At the picture David attached you see both ammonition hatches closed.
