Christopher.
I have indeed a copy. A correction to the text under the photo the bridge is not an early design but modified by the Norwegian navy, removing the wintergarden in order to increase the under water speed.  All our VII Cs had of course the NATO pennant numbers. As  our VII Cs had schnorkels they spent more time submerged thus the modification of the tower. The latest version can be seen on the picture below showing KNM Kya s 307 U 926 ( my latest boat) with her modern "sail" probably a version of the VIIC you never saw.

Simon.
You picture is of the next Kya S 317. She  was one of 15 submarines delivered from April 1964 til June 67. KNM Kaura as you see below was S 315. These submarines relieved our VII Cs and U class. As mentioned before they are all scrapped as well, one is a museum sub, and a new generation submarines has taken over.

Christopher.
The balkongeraet on KNM Kya was probably the same type as on KNM Kaura.
