Is there any interest in dive gears
« on: 04 May , 2008, 07:39 »
Guys,

I have the blueprints for the diving gear arrangement, plus photos taken of CAVALLA taken back in 2000 when they had stripped the superstructre off to repair the rusting braces holdign it off the hull.

Is there any interest in this?

I would think there will always be intrest in all upgrades that your company and others make. I think it may help people if you could make a quick sketch or picture of what you had in mind.

I would be interested in some upgrades of the hatches and things that were in the sails of the late war Gato's. I know the USS Silversides had some seats(or stands) on the inside of the sail and also the gear (lack of a better word) that would be attached to the sail area where the captain(sorry I don't the proper word) stood while on the surface.

Sort like this

This is the Battle Surface area. There is a fold-up platform undeneath the fold-up seat on either side. I laos include the three pairs of fold-up benches which line the aft end of fairwater, as you can see here in their stowed position.

Unfortunately, it was the nature of the vessels themselves to hide all of this detail once the model is assembled

I hope that helps.

I will scan the overview of the diving gear arrangement and get it online soon.

I see, yes I think many (to include myself) would be interested in details like that.

The diving gear is the set of gears and cams that raise and lower the forward bow planes. This diagram shows their general layout and operation
