Hecker & Goros figures 1/48
« on: 29 Dec , 2015, 11:52 »
Hello folks,

Merry Christmas to you all.

Hecker & Goros will release the following U-boat crew figures in 48th scale.

Looks like they will do very nicely for Trumpeter's forthcoming VIIC kit in 48th scale.

Cheers,

Dougie

The proportions seem a bit exaggerated but i guess, that might actually work better when viewing the model without magnification.

Hi Helmut,

They will be available direct from Hecker & Goros early in the new year, although not showing on there website just yet.

As far as boats, there are RC 1/48 already available, (Here, for example), the Graupner hull seems to no longer be available. The (mostly wooden)
subscription magazine build one which must be about half way through.
Of the Static model one, no news from Trumpeter and there has been no recent news, but there is always the Arkmodel one.

Typical, as soon as I write that, this appears.

Sorry folks, there are links in this post, for some reason they are not showing, they will work when you mouse over them, addresses copied below.

Hi Helmut, hi Cap,

please follow the link to a deep inbox review of the Arkmodel typseven in 1/48.

Lots of pictures from the single sprues and the hull, reviewed by Luke Pitt. AFAIK he is author of many reports for the "Tamiya Model Magazine International", in this way he has an eager eye for details.

Hi Helmut,

It would be a bit of a guess, but from other reviews the Arkmodel is better than the 1:72 Revell, previous experience I believe that Trumpeter are better than the equivalent Revell. The Arkmodel has a more mechanical build, seemingly designed with RC in mind, my guess is the Trumpeter will build more like a normal static model, of course I could be completely wrong!

Hi Gents,

to be fair its noteworthy that Revell's injection moulds are today more than ten years old. If Trumpeter and Ark will do the job right they have lots of options to do a better (detail) job than Revell due to using 3-D-modelling software and slide moulding. Both technics were far away in the early years of the second millennium.
