1/32 Type VII-C U-boat projects
« on: 07 Apr , 2011, 10:28 »
Hello,

My first post here at the forum!!

Will like to share some of my projects, one is the Andrea Miniatures Type VII-C conning tower diorama with scrachtbuilt front deck extension and 88 gun, a project I did for a collector friend and my scrachtbuilt conning tower also a Type VII-C and 88 deck gun(this time in brass) for my full hull sub, the hull is one of the old 32 Parallel fiberglass ones made for RC(my model will be static one) quite some years ago, I added hull weldlines and rivets to the otherwise plain hull from the factory to the best of my abilitys....is not a perfect bolt by bolt replica but looks much better now, will post photos of the hull soon as soon as I finish the weathering on it.

Scrachtbuilt conning tower and deck gun for the full hull project in 1/32

Here are some quick shoot of my finished full hull TypeVII-C, finished this one quite some time ago and at the moment the model is on loan to a naval collection. I will be visiting the model in the next few days and will take new pictures including a full lenght shoot.

Is a old 32 Parallel hull and deck with a scracht built conning tower and brass deck gun.hull weld lines and rivets where also added, the two front and back insulation/static discharge conning tower cables are missing in these pictures but where added to the finished model, is not  a perfect U-Boat scale replica but I like the end result very much. Hope my fellow forum members like it to.

Wow, just wow!!  Great craftsmanship.  1/32 scale would be about 2 meters long; that is one big model!

that's mighty big 1:25! You can have a car model in scale with it.

i stand corrected mates the drawings are in 1/32 scale . with a length of 94 "1/2 overall and a beam of 8"1/2 still a big boy .i scaled up a set of plans i found on the internet a few years back but in my absence i could not locate it again so i have the basic hull format on paper [alot of paper] by the way so now it is a matter of inking in the details and drawing up some formers and a basic hull structure for a model so that said i will post some drawings a.s.a.p till then cheers and good wishes to all!

Wow!! Those are some sweet builds.  Excellent scratchbuilding skills are in evidence all around.  You have done a first rate job weathering the builds also.  I don't know where I could display a 94.5" uboot; my display cases are barely big enough for the 1:72 scale RoG models.  Well done indeed!
