David.
In contradiction to the museums U995, the main engines were usually gray U 995 did not have a green colour. The many cocks and valve wheels and handles did not have all the red and other colours as on todays U995, the same goes for dials and gauges.

Dear Tore

How is it with the two Color paint sheme in the comando section .
I have the paint instructions of the german Kriegsmarine there was only mentioned that it was painted all over White RAL 9003 .
U995 has a two Color paint sheme inside white on top and down Grey .
any opinion on this ?

Thanks

David.
I guess in the control room the VIICs had a two colour scheme, however the grey area was a bit  further down than on the museum U-995, more like on the image of U 570 below.

Mr Tore
Was the Grey color of the Engine Block on U995 during wartime and/or post war a Dark Grey or Light Grey?.

The Engine room interior walls was specified by the Kreigsmarine to be Ivory color to be light but the engine?

Too many Museum U995 valves etc all painted Green and Red which is not accurate.

However did any of the valves/handles have Red and Green colors?

Was the engine room more like this colorised photo of U234?

My Model Engine is too dark, just undercoated for effect.

thanks
Raymic

Raymic1.
I guess the bulkheads were ivory and the main engine about the colour on your image, but less blueish. The metallic pushrods, manoeuvre handles, valve rockerarms were not painted . Wheels and handles did not have colour markings. The markings, if any, were on the pipes. Sorry but the plastic " engines shown on your images does not resemble any of the MAN or GW engines on the VIICs see images below.

Would this be a bit more realistic? Pulled this from the Das Boot Wikipedia site. It's a photo of the actual set of the movie. I would think this would be quite a bit closer to the real thing as opposed to U-995 as it is now in museum colors.
