Siara:
I have followed your build here for some time and congratulate you as not only a craftsman, but as a true artist.
I am a retired designer, age 72, with a passion for U-boat models, and have just begun a build on the Type VIIc Revell boat. (U96)
While I have nowhere near the talent you bring to the hobby I am working to do a better-than average model insofar as corrected vision and slightly shakey hands allow. (Thank god for Optivisors!)
Right now my curiousity prompts the following question (although I am a long way away from finishes): You mentioned hairspray and kitchen salt as a means of weathering the lower hull. Could you explain in some small detail just how this works and how it is applied?
I would greatly appreciate any help you may give.
Best wishes,
Don
