Hello Siarra,

I have this color photo of a Gato that I hope might help you.

Cordially,

The corrosion might be too important compare to a U-boot, but it might be of interest.

Hi Siara

Just wondering if you see the picture of U-995 on page 29 in Wolf Pack by Gordon Williamson?

Hi Siara

To be honest with you- no i didnt. I have 5 books about Uboot`s by that fellow, but not this one. ::)

Thanks for the pictures guys- they will help me get the hull looking more realistic.
In order to get right surface for barnacles, and faded paint, with salty residue i bought the Roughcoat today- so i will be experimenting soon. Hope its gonna work out right.
The other 2 cans are Choas Black primer by Citadel- aparently best primer money can get for figure, and general model with PE painting. It sticks to metal like s*** to the showell. ;D

Sorry Siara. I was mean to type U-552 not U-995 :-[ :-[ Maybe a little late in the build but just happen to see it the other day, and thought it maybe useful or you would like to see it if you had not see it before. I found it very interesting as two of the hatches are open. It the only picture I know of the main magnetic compass.

OK- i know you all been waiting for the next batch of pictures, so here it is- painting the figures.
I started with the skin.

Next i will paint the beards, hair and clothes. At the end i may put some shadows ie: eyesockets with some oils. Well see...

Base colours for clothes applied. Now i will use some filters, and apply hair, and shadows with oils. Dry pigments to finish the job. I may do the insignia also

Simon..not sure about the hose...could be attached to "test" equipment..But about our previous discussions on "tethers"...note the chain tether on the hatch connecting it to the main structure...Bill
