Not much modelling time today, but i managed to collect the all new glass cover from the glass guy.
The one i had before had some minor issues, which needed to be rectified, but instead he made the new glass tank for me. And it is much nicer!  ;D

Net cutter, and jumping wires supports fixed to the deck.
I used stretched sprue.
The sprue stretched on top of the cigarette lighter, inserted in the holes, and blobed at the ends with hot knife.
Primer applied.

Thats just perfect - really worth the extra work!

You must be more or less ready to paint your boat ?

Thank you Jan. ;)

Im glad the way it turned out. It was worth it indeed.
Im still awaiting the delivery of my new airbrush- the highly acclaimed Infinity http://precisiongermanairbrush.com/infinity126543.html

Another thing is- the 88mm gun. I dont know if to build it first, and then paint the whole lot- leaving the rigging, and figures for last, or to paint the model, and while doing so, work on the gun simultenously.

Thanks Wink!

Preshading.
Conning tower, and top part of the hull were preshaded using Tamiya XF-18 Medium Blue, mixed 50/50 with Tamiya Thinner (X-20A)
I thought the usual black will be too harsh under the very light base colour.
Bottom of the hull will get preshaded with XF-50- Field Blue.

Mix of Tamiya X-2, XF-18, XF-18, X-21, and X-22 for top part of the hull.
Preshading just visible through the main colour- perfect! ;D

Bottom of the hull painted.
I used mix of colours, of which the Tamiya XF-18 was dominant.

This shot shows the oil canning effect beautifuly. All the work ive put into getting the hull to look right pays off now. ;D

This party is getting hot!  ;D

Have to agree, your preshading really get the full effect out of your "oil-canning" - looking good Mate!

Looks like a good choice of colors!
