Kitchen salt applied in place of intended chiped paint:

First coat of WEM IJN Kure Gray. I used this paint instead of planned Schiffsbodenfarbe III, because it saved me mixing it with lighter colors to get it right to scale, and the Kure Gray still has desired green tinge anyway:

Second coat. Here you can see the scratches on timber showing nicely like wood grain:

I sprayed the scopes, and hatch lid aswell:

I applied 3 and 4 coat of paint, adding gradualy Helgrau 50, and Baltic Gray, and varnish.
Than the salt was removed:

Tomorrow ill wash the lot, and add some paint with brush.

WOW!!! SOOO impressive! The level of detail is amazing, and your skill to do it - fantabulous! Keep up the amazing work, and keep posting pix!

Also, I must apologize for not responding earlier, a display glitch wasn't showing me any posts in general Modeling, otherwise I would have been praising your work sooner!

I finished painting the CT, had the good, long look at it, and washed tthe lot off. It turned out too dark for my liking, and the WEM enamels proved hard work.
I will start anew with Tamiya acrylics. ;D

During the washing process i lost some delicate detail from peryscope stacks. So im making the new ones.
The only good thing is, the new ones will be ten times better than he old. 8)

I made the plate under the main body of the scope. Sheet styrene, drilled, with wider holes on the bottom. After the glue set round the wires i sanded the bottom smooth, and top to required length of the bolts on the sheet of sandpaper 1500 grit.

I received the delivery of the I.C.
It is the second cross they sent me- first dissapeared in post. Thanks to PZG they sent the replacement for free.

Hope noone will take it badly, as it will be used for display purpose. It will be located on the plank.

Looking SOOOO good. And you're soo right about the replacement stuff - frustrating, but you will have an even sweeter loking boat becasue you've already built these before! IC looks great and is appropriate.
