I-19 Project
« on: 01 Jan , 2015, 07:01 »
 ;D Well here goes!
I am planning a 1/72 project of the I-19.  I am going to use the Lindberg I-53 as a base. I know, what a terrible model!!! :(
Any other ideas for a 1/72 scale  base let me know !  I will need all the technical help I can get! I have already found  a website with a 1/72 I-25.  It is an R/C model, but there basic ideas will be a great help.

So, can anyone locate a set of line drawings for a Type B Submarine?
Thanks in advance!
Dan

Look forward to your build.
Just looking at the I-53 and the even rarer i-20 1/72 kits, they are quite different.
I-53

Rare I-20 kit

there is a build thread out there where someone converted a I-53 to a I-25, very simulator to the I-19

:) Thanks I have these.  I am getting the various different pieces I will need to make this sub. I found the 5 inch deck gun for the aft deck. I also have two 25mm guns for the  tower. I will have to kit bash them together for the twin mount.  I was lucky to find a 1/72 Watanabe Type 96 "Slim" float Plane for the Ramp in front. This is an early Biplane floatplane used on I-19 until Midway.  This plane flew an areal recon over  Pearl Harbor on Dec. 6th. The day before the attack.  So  thanks for the help! I will start posting photos of this build when I start.
Regards,
Dan
