First things first- Koki paste. I know the producer gives it 6 months lifespan, but i keep mine in the fridge, and is still as good as new. In fact i know people that use it for good few years, and is still OK. Key is to keep it in the cool, dry, dark place.
The paste may seem to be bit pricey, but believe me- NOTHING BEATS KOKI! If you take jump, and invest in it, you will never go back to solder, and flux. It will last you forever and the results are easy to see in this thread. Trust me- order it today.
Regarding the brass manufacture- i cut it using scisors as close i can, and then holding it in tweezers i work on the piece with various grade files, and sandpaper. If i need the ring i drill first, and work the outsides after. Amazing what one can do his way. Wih the little patience and practice nothing is impossible.
