I also write here to find an answer to my question.
Because I'm in the process of model construction in Special Navy 1 / 72 U-boats in question, and I found myself at a standstill.
Looking at the instructions of Eduard specific set of photo-etch details, I realized that at one point says to delete a detail over the bow of the boat, see picture attached:

Looking at some documentation in my possession, I don't see that type of structure/support!!!
And here is the question!
Why Trumpeter, Special Navy and ICM had "created" this support / structure?? There goes or not??
Someone can take this big doubt??
Thank you very much for your help...
Mario.

Hi Mario,
I have checked my (fairly) extensive archive of u-boat pictures. Unfortunately the Type XXIII wasn't photographed too often.
After checking all the pictures I have, I came to conclusion that some of the boats might have had something resembling those two bulges depicted on the SN XXIII.
Namely U-2363

and (to me) unknown u-boat next to U-2336

This is of course open to interpretation.
I hope this helps...

Hi Mario, here,s a pic of a large scale XX111 model. The shaded area in
your pic seems to be access hatches, possibly for torpedo tube
maintenance. I have another wartime pic of type XX111,s on a
building slip showing these areas open somewhere. I,ll try to find it
for you, regards, Steve.

Thank you very much to all of you for your help!
But I have another question.
http://www.modelshipwrights.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=3682
Here the reviewer states that the AFT LANTERN is missing!!!
First, is the warning light?
Second, where was it?
On some photos I noticed that there is an opening at the base of the wing in the rear, where it joins with the cover of the exhaust. Was that?
Bye and thank you very much.

Mario.
P.S.
For my previous question, I decided to put it on, reproducing it with evergreen plastic.

I don't know about this boat specifically, but in general, have heard many wartime boats (in all navies) removed the light bulb and/or painted over - the last thing youw ant to do in battle, as a stealthy uboat, is to accidentally flip on the lights!

Hi all,
here are the pictures as promised.
I put them here to not open another post to no avail.
Then, the photos do not refer to the model as it is now but as it was about ten days ago. Today the tower has been in place and all welds have been added also to it, I basically put all the stabilizers and rudders and other small jobs to finish.
Will post more updates asap.
Any suggestion is welcome.
