My wife built the Revell 1:48 Lunar Lander some years ago, and I thought I'd put link in here. She researched it very well, and scratch built the antennas and even the spiral Mylar wrappings, and the black panels. She made the skin of of al-foil so five that super-thin, poppy look. A bit of spray adhesive and a sprinkle of cement (as in concrete powder) gave the lunar surface a "kick."

Hi Wink,
How very lucky you are to have a wife with an interest in scale models AND the skill to build them! Mine likes to look at them and asks some questions, but is terrified to touch styrene - like a vampire with garlic!
Cheers,
Bill

LOL Bill!
Speaking of garlic, I ust swerve off topic and share some related humor. Bought some garlic, as in to plant in the garden, seedlings. The plastic tag you stick in the ground had the usual: photo, where to plant, water, etc., etc. At the bottom it also said: "strands of hanging garlic will keep vampires away." I fell off my chair and ran out to plant!
