Title: Closing dogs on Torpedo-Loading-Hatches
Post by: TopherVIIC on 25 Apr , 2013, 13:14
Tore and Maciek -
On Type VII's were the closing dogs and mechanisms the same on the loading hatches for the torpedoes as the closing dogs and mechanisms for the main conning tower trunk and the cooks hatch?

I may have found the answer to my own question. No - they were not. For instance the galley Hatch is divided into 6 60deg. segments, and the images I have of the toro-loading hatches are divided into 8  45deg. segments.
Does anyone have any good exterior pics of the torp loading hatches to show the hinged and counterbalance.?
