I LOVE it! I've seen many mighty nice superdetailed cockpits, but I honest don't recall seeing the water/rust stains under pedals, and oil bits. A PERFECT touch - executed as always, also with perfection.
I'm getting ready 9well, it will be 12 months I'm sure, there's the gato and the slowly coming along Graf Zepplen) to do my F4U Corsair, and am looking at "going to town" on the cockpit. I am making mental notes!

Thanks Wink! ;D

Magnificent as always Siara! I'm also getting into modelling this birds and I would appreciate if you could go into detailed explanations once the time for painting the fuselage comes, I'm eager to learn!
Keep it up!

Thats nice scene Nicolas.
I like it.
Especially the cart- neat scratchbuilding.
I painted the stick, and added some more paint wear.

After joining the two halves of the hull i started work on the oil cooler. The fit isnt good here, and some steps were taken to address that.

I like this build very much!

Oil cooler firing completed.
Mr. Surfecer didnt show any more imperfections.
Whats more pleasing is the wing fits perfectly.

Very Nice!
Waiting for more.....

Next step- adding the sheet of tin in front of the cooler.
Recesses were made for the clamps on both sides of the cowling.
Im slowly adidng the damage to the cowling like indented metal and deep scratches.
Later on ill add, damaged paint layers which ill make using the MR. Surfacer and salt technique.

Initial surface damage.

Beer can was used to make new parts for the exhaust housing. Instead of drilling the plastic i cut it away, and replaced it with more realistic looking pieces of tin.

Very nice! Need to know though, 1 beer can = 1 piece? ;D Will you move onto clear bottled beer when it's time for the canopy? ::)
Excellent building as usual as well as excellent usage of "raw" materials in your scratch
Cheers!

Siara,
Ran into this Blog looking up photos. It was entitled "more Bf109" pics. This would make me believe there is at least another one in there somewhere. There are a "TON" of nice color shots. Scroll down, looking at the side, there is a "month of Sundays" filled to go through the Blog listings. Found two on the Fw190. I will post them in my thread for/if anybody needs them. ;D

Nice blog- thanks TRM. ;)

Sweet Emil Siara. The cockpit is a work of art. I have the ROG 1/32 scale Junkers 88 A1, which I plan to build at some point; as soon as I can figure out where to display the beast that is!
Ernest
-
Ernest- get cracking on that Junkers mate, dont worry about the size- the bigger, the better, just ask your wife. ;D
Thanks for the nice words about the Emil. Ill make some progress soon, just finishing the small dio- i`ve got few days work left on it.
-
Siara, I would like to start, but I am going to have to put the JU88 build off until I have completed building the room above my garage. Of course then I'll have a really nice modelling room over twice as large as my current room to build that sweet kit!
