Title: Battle 360
Post by: wildspear on 02 Mar , 2008, 10:19
Has anyone watched this new series? It started last Friday (29 Feb), great TV, I love the History channel.

See the legendary USS Enterprise as never before
Battle 360 is the story of the World War II aircraft carrier USS Enterprise. The Enterprise held a pivotal place on the turbulent seas of World War II, engaging in some of modern combat's fiercest multi-front battles. Using the latest technology and cutting-edge computer graphic animation, Battle 360 brings viewers deep into the action, from high in the sky to deep underwater as the Enterprise fights its way to victory.

Watch Battle 360 Fridays at 10pm/9C.

The battle of midway show was pretty good. To bad for our torpedo bombers but if you have a slow plane it's going to get hurt. Can't wait untill the next instalment of the show.

1970s film Midway. Not bad (not great), but this always struck me as odd and ironic and unpleasant: the Chuck Heston character. His son gets roasted alive, but manages to land his plane OK. But Chuck gets his rudder shot up and smashes on the deck, becoming much like a bucket of red paint. Couldn't he hang on and bring it in, his son did! (It was also funny to see the IJN switch from torps to bombs to torps to "holy craaaap Batman! We're caught with our pants down!" ) But I guess the whole findning the fleet wwas lucky for US. what a battle.
