I just realize that the VIIC/41's and a few of the late war VIIC decks are very simple and clear compare to the other Type VII

Hull is primed. I spent few months sanding, and scrabing the hull in hope to get the good "oil canning" effect, and i think it turned out nice. Just the way i wanted it to look.
Short galery before i start painting it, and making it look dirty:

Hope you like the result. ;D

You know, I was seriously considering leaving off the rear diving planes and the rudders on my build to make painting easier.  After looking at the stern of your primed U-552 I wish I had.  I think painting in that area is going to be a pain. *Sigh*

Studying the pictures of various type VIIC boats i spotted some detail on the deck railings.

It was possibly designed to interchange the section of the railing for chain while moored at the port.
I cant get the close up o the detail, but came up with photoshop mock up of it:

tell me what you think- would it look that way?

I can't day as Supreme Know it All, but most all clip/chain hooks work that way, so it is very likely.

Thanks Snowman- just as i thought. It shouldnt be a problem to make it. Ill work on the rings tomorrow.
Today im trying to complete the front part of railings, but here lot more soldering is involved, and it takes time.
I got one of the railings completed:

I left the bottom part of the removable section off, because i find that to be true with some of the pictures of the U-552 i have.

Rail looks sweet. But then you are superb with (well, everything) soldering.

That beats the kitparts with lightyears -  ;D - great work and a good inspiration for the VII C I have in My stash.
