Title: Type XXIII - General topic

Good day,

Does anyone have a good picture of the type XXIII torpedo tubes and hatch in the front? I have the drawings from E.Rössler, but not seen any photos of it. The closest I have is those, but they don't show the actual door, they are too dark.

Was there even a door, or was the tubes wet tubes?

Would be very happy for help.

Thank you David, yes indeed.


It looks hard  to find pictures and information regarding the design of the outer muzzle door and arrangement.
If someone else find info don't hesitate to share here :)

Hi,


I try to figure out what colour the type XXIII might have inside the outer conningtower, and between internal and external hull, as this will be seen if I keep the outer muzzle door open.


Was this somekind of dark grey?

Thanks SG, I've been through it a couple of times. A great build with much good information.

Though, I am missing some information still.


I try to fint reference pictures of the silencer and exhaust system. I've found one, of which I believe is U-2321.


I'd be very happy if someone have more pictures on their computer / books as help.

Good morning,


I am thinking about the propeller of the typ XXIII.


Was it made out of bronze or steel/painted grey?


When looking on the "Wilhelm Bauer", it seems as her propellers are located at the entrance gate and seems to me made out of bronze. However, I am not sure if they are original.
