U-352 photo request
« on: 13 Feb , 2013, 18:56 »
Greetings.
Ive decided to model my Revell VIIC after the U-352 because it is the U-boat wreck  nearest my location.  But i am having a terrible time finding photos of the markings on the Sub. i did find the crest at U-Boat.net but that's it.
Any advice?

The Story of U-352 is somewhat interesting  in the fact 33 of the crew actually survived its sinking.

cheers!

The only other suggestion is to find a near "sister" boat, one from same yard at same time. Tho be careful! My flawless logic said my U557 should be identical to her sister U558, rather than her other sister U556, it turns out I was wrong! Pix were scarce (non-existent) when I started, but after finishing about 5 popped up showing that 557 was actually more like 552 and 556. Only in a few details, however.

Hey OldNoob, am sorry of the delayed reply. My search had no luck. nothing on the books i've got. Only pics of the crew on their way to captivity but nothing showing the boat itself or the conning tower. You could try the french magazine Navires & Histoire Hors Serie, issue nr 16 (showing U-boats from U-201 to U524). Check the PDF preview here:
http://www.avions-bateaux.com/produit/navires-histoire/1845
In the preview you will find pics n insignias of U 254, U255 and U256 (but the page showing U253 is missing from the preview, aarghhh!!). I'll probably order issue nr 13 and 16, from what i see they deserve a place in my bookcase!!
Am Sorry that I cant be more helpful than this
Cheers!
