Title: Hypodermic needles
Post by: GlennCauley on 29 Sep , 2011, 10:31
Hypodermic needles are great to use for small-diameter non-tapered tubes like gun barrels, pitot tubes, etc.
You can even combine some (put one inside another) to give double- or triple-stepped tubes.

Use a mototool with cutoff disk to CAREFULLY blunt the end of the needle.  Be sure to ALWAYS use protective eyewear... ALWAYS!

Here is a file that gives specifications of the different gauges of hypodermic needles available.  Usually these are readily available from any medical supply company or pharmacy.

Excellent info, thanks Glenn!  My LHS finally started carrying brass tubing in really small dia., but the needles are better.
