Title: Upper pressure hull kit question
Post by: OldNoob on 02 Mar , 2013, 07:19
Hi
Working on my Revell 1/72 VIIc and like a dummy, I used a Dremel to cut the slit and the speed was to fast, needless to say, i buggered it all up

Not sure what to do from here.
I thought maybe i could still get it to look ok with a  upper pressure hull kit and enough modeling putty .

but i can't seem to find ether yankee Modelworkd or Blue Ridge Models kit available in the US.

Any suggestions?

Ill try to add a photo later today

The Yankee pressure hull - well, we hate to say bad things, but...I threw mine away. It's easy to build your own. Lots of folks go overboard and build full ones, but al that s (barely) visible is the top (and a little bit of bottom for the bow and stern). Check out the forum and Glenn Cauley and his builds: http://www.travel-net.com/~gcauley/Uboats/ (http://www.travel-net.com/~gcauley/Uboats/)

Here's my old build and some links: http://www.rokket.biz/modelsweb/rokket/u557/finished.shtml (http://www.rokket.biz/modelsweb/rokket/u557/finished.shtml)

I just used some stock styrene for the upper part, added some pipes etc. They can be barely seen. I also did the same (actually a piece of pie plate) for the lower stern pressure hull seen via the lower drainage slots by the prop shafts.
