Title: VIID U-216 colors
Post by: VonStigler on 25 Feb , 2012, 16:52
Guys,
I am building the Revell 1/72 kit with the CMK VIID conversion, based on U-216.  The handful of pictures I have been able to find of the U-216 leave me guessing on the upper hull/tower color.  Hellgrau 50?  Dunklegrau 51?  Does anyone know for sure?
Thanks,
Brian

I don't know specifics, but Dougie's Wolf Pack (in the AMP Library on the website) have everything you wanted to know about uboat colour. It should be an excellent guide for making a guess.

Thanks Rokket,
Yes I have looked at Dougie's excellant article many, many times.  I think DG 51 would be the best guess so that is what it will be.

Brian

Yes, there's always some guess work, but that seems the more common than HG.
