I wanted to put this as its own topic so it would not be missed.
At long last, it seems that Eduard has heeded our feedback and is re-releasing a corrected version of their 10,5cm deck gun (1/72)
:D :D :D
Here is the recent message that I received from Eduard support, only a few hours after I had re-contacted them about status:
Dear Mr. Cauley,
We apologize for the delay. This issue has been discussed with our Brassin department. They redesigned this set and we now already have these guns from the new mold.
So please, let me know your postal address and the number of sets you need to be replaced. They will be dispatched during this week.
Also please, you can let your modeling friends , who also brought this set , know that the repaired set is allready availiable and they can contact us for replacements.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.
Have a nice day.

Congratulations, Glenn, on getting this accomplished. It's rare to see a company admit their wrong and correct things.

Great news :D

I received my new 10,5cm deck gun sets from Eduard-Brassin today.
After verifying the dimensions of key parts (as per the report we compiled), I am VERY happy to say that Eduard has done a great job in correcting the issues.
Dimensions are as they should be, or at least much closer than before (within reasonable tolerances).
When I get a chance I will build the new gun, and show comparison pictures between old and new.
Good job, Eduard! :D

Hello together,
I have just received my replacement of the 10.5.
They did a great job!
On the pictures you will clearly see the difference between old (left) and new.
I add also a comparison of 10.5 old (left), new (middle) and 8.8.
