Title: Who's Building the Gato for RC?

Howdy all!

Would like to know who is building their Gato for RC conversion, specifically for static diving.

G'Day Chuck!

Thanks for signing up so fast!

I'm going static, because as super cool as it is to go RC, I think detail has to be sacrificed for the RC part - but that's just me. (I'm thinking about diving requirements and waterproofing weathered paint jobs). But then, back in 1982 I was itching to buy the 9' fiberglass Gato hull and make it RC, but that was waaay beyond me at the time. I think the Revell Gato is a good minimum size for RC (The VIIC IMHO is too small).

But I'm interested in knowing too, becasue there are a lot of very cool RC's out there, and maybe someone can educate me better!

I remember there are even custom made sets for a 1/72 revell VII C RC-version around.
Look here:

under "submarines", VII C Revell.

They already do much smaller things in RC! Even 1/72 XXIIIs.

Thanks Ralf, very helpful site. Looks like some really good stuf. The Gato is a good size for an RC, can't wait toi see what people do with it.
