Here are some pics of the 1:72 Type IIB U-boot that won the "1/72 and larger Submarines" category at the recent CAPCON 2011 show.
My own U-673 was up against this Type IIB... and he got the nod. :P

A beauty, i love the amazing weathering and details (the outside toilet is great)!
Great pics Glenn, Thanks for posting 'em!
PS: your U-673 is -S-uper, anyways!
-
Thanks Glenn!
It's certainly very nice, but I would say the tip went to the deck activity. Add some to U 673, and you'll be on top!

I just realized the same boat build is here http://models.rokket.biz/index.php?topic=192.15 .
I thought it looked familiar!

Yesssss it is Harvey Low's boat! It was also a feature article in FineScale Modeler, May 2010.
:)
Super-nice guy, and an AWESOME model builder.

Well, fantastic we're all here!
what a small world, what are the chances of Type II sub nuts being all he....oh. ;D

That is one awesome build! I'll bet the judges had a very hard time deciding the winner between Mr. Low's build and your's Glenn. Both are exceptional quailty builds.
