Eduard PE help

bill_c:
I have the Eduard PE set #53023 and it includes some grills for the underside of the outer hull (parts 23 and 24). Do I need to drill holes for them? I presume so, but there is no guidance in the instructions.

Just got my torpedo shutters, and they went in like a snap, but I'm unclear about two things:

Should the doors aft of them be filled-in and sanded, as they don't show on the photos with the set.

Shouldn't there be 2 additional rows of holes underneath each torpedo tube (again, referring to the photos).

Oh, I forgot to add I'm building the USS Barb.

Rokket:
Hi Bill,

I THINK we can help, but we need more info...

This part is unclear: "Should the doors aft of them be filled-in and sanded, as they don't show on the photos with the set." what do you mean can you post a pic or point us to a drawing/resource?

Holes - it depends on your specific boat. The Barb had the first example in this document from the AMP library: http://amp.rokket.biz/docs/gato_bow_limber.pdf (220 in the series).

A bit more info and I think we will be able to help!

Sorry, Wink, I was not clear:

http://www.eduard.cz/products/card.php?id_product=5438&name=gato&catalogue_nb=&type=&pgroup=&scale=&product_month=&product_year=&page_start=0

If you look at the Eduard set 53023 and go to the last page of the instructions, it shows what look to my untrained eye like drain hole grates.

Rokket:
Sorry, Bill, email was down for 2 days, a speed upgrade that went bad.

I'm still a bit confuzzulled because I have a small brain. I take it as 2 questions:

1 - aft the the torps there are grids of hols. These are on the Cod, and I'm not sure what other boats, I have to grab some research to get you more info. AS for the bottom, there are heaps and heaps of Kingston valves and similar in another style, but I don't have any info on grills. I will look into both of these and see what I can come up with, apologies for delay, I know it is frustrating! have a great holiday.

bill_c:
Thanks, Mate, when you have the time to check this out, I'll be grateful, though I have plenty to do with getting the floor plates ready to install. Merry Christmas to you and yours and all who hang out here.
