Here some pics of my VIIC/41 with balkon gerat and Flakvierling 38 (ARMO)
I hope to end this one soon ...gato's waiting in drydock too:)
About Balkon gerat... i've been looking evrywere to get info and drownings..but there are so less ans the same for pics..
So what i've found is that there are different type... in form and positions... so at least i've done by fantasy looking at some
drawnings and BPO.

Wow! That thing looks huge! I wish i could find more pics abou Balkon gerat...
BTW i visited that Italian forum Betasom and there were lot of great models... Too bad i don

HEHE me too...
At least on that forum we had reached this quorum...
there are different... and also the same boat carryed different...because early balkons used to
be not so idrodynamic and with big tides there were damages...
the one i've made is form books and looks different form the only one sure photo shown on the 995...

Yes i saw those while surfing betasom...
The C is really nicely done! Oil canning, deck gun, periscope... The camo painting looks new.

La Spezia one... i have rare images and form them and form these
two sites i get the right camo u are seeing here.

For the colors check : AMP site > Library > Documents > submarines > U-boats : ARTICLES by DOUGIE MARTINDALE "The Wolf Pack: A Collection Of U-Boat Modelling Articles"
In my opinion no camo on the shield... Bur for sure some crew-members were graphers ;D

I was read that the twin mount for the 3.7 cm Flakzwilling M43U was very heavy for the Type VII U-boats. Imagine the weight of the 20 mm Quadruple Flakzwilling :o Must have been hard to keep the boat trim.

Morning, well c/41 got an enlarged wintergarden, main gun removed,
lenght pressure hull: VIIC 20,5mm ----- 28 of C/41
a surface area : 758m3 ------ 999m3
main gun removed but artillery upgraded from 1x 2 cm flak + 2x 2 flak + 1x 4 flak...
i think that NZ is right writing "they were difficult to trim", even if they had same underwater speed (better propulsion) and a little faster speed when surface mode.

it's foggy, quite strange day... i also have time to spend...and so here i am... U-453 washing time.
i really don't remember how long i've been far from U-453, i've tryed to remember how it works and probably this is only the first stage of washing ... btw i think i reached the aging of it.
washing and painting materials:
enamel type wash
-neutral wash (mig)
-brown wash (mig)
-dark wash (mig)
-cold gray wash (mig)
acrylic colors
-italian bianco avorio ua236 (lifecolor)
-verde dragone opaco lc40 (lifecolor)
-dark grey xf24 (tamiya)
-flat blak xf1 (tamiya)
so have fun and pliz suggest me what i have to do more.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner, but I have too much forums I'm trying to follow and in the end I'm following none it would seem.
I'd suggest to put the printing on hold for now.
Maybe I can help you with the decals. I think I have all 3 ULAD sheets. I'm at work now, but I'll check it this evening and let you know.
By the way: Fantastic builds you're showing here.
