USS Cusk - looking for info
« on: 30 Sep , 2009, 10:48 »
Hello, I want to build USS Cusk with loon rocket.
I found some photos on the internet, espacially on www.usscusk.com site.
But i need better quality photos if exists or scale drawings.
Is it possible to get photos from http://www.usscusk.com/1947.htm site in a better resolution?
Could you help me in looking for info?
Thank you in advance.

Navsource has larger pix.

You can also look at Floating Drydock to see if he has any blueprints in that series of boat.
Check in the Bu section first under Balao Class EB.

Very nice choice. Love to see the personal choices for subjects, something with some "meat". You've probably seen this, but this is fairly good res and shows a lot of the "action":

Here's what can be veeeeery easily deduced, but not necessarily solid info:
Cusk was EB commissioned in 1946, so she would be the latest torpedo shutters (Balao style) Her tower is well presented in the above pic.

If she was like her sister (349) http://diodon349.com/1946/45downtheways.jpg  That pic shows the standard EB bow limber pattern. There's a similar shot of Cusk at navsource as Eric says. I think you just have to build her as she would be based on the normal stuff we know (EB 1945 launch, which means latest radar, etc.), and then use a few pix to add in the very cool missile stuff.

Keep us posted!
