Most of us use Windex to clean our airbrushes after spraying acrylics. It is a very good idea to spray distilled water thorugh the airbrush as the final act of cleaning. Windex contains ammonia, which is not good for plated metal; it will eventually eat away the finish. Distilled water is pure, with no mineral deposits; therefore, it is an excellent and safe final spray medium.

Thanks for this advice. I have just used the Windex to clean the airbrush after spraying future. Using the distilled water makes a lot of sense!

ahhh, interesting! I also empty the air comp thru the airbrush, figuring it blows anything left out, and dries.
