Title: Widgets.swf downloads
Post by: Raymic1 on 28 Mar , 2018, 14:11
Just a quick admin tech question. Everytime I visit this site Im asked to dowload a Widgets.swf and my computer says it could be harmful.
Anyone know what it is, thanks

"SWF" = ShockWaveFlash", so it's about running animation. It's very strange you are getting this, we aren't running any Flash. It shouldn't be harmful, but you shouldn't be asked to download it either. I'll see what I can find. In the mean time, try using a different browser and see if you get the same msg.

In fact you ARE running a small Flash widget on this site: the "AMP Picks" rotating books widget (see attached pic).
Browsers like Firefox don't like Adobe stuff running anymore, so occasionally those plug-ins stop working properly, and you get prompted to reactivate it.
