Title: Howdy
Post by: tankerken on 27 Jan , 2024, 21:01
Hi, my name is Ken, and I am the newest member of this forum. As my screen name implies, I used to operate tanks for the US Army. I love submarines, especially U-Boats. I have been building models of U-Boats since I was a kid, sadly, I don't have photos of most of them.
One that I do have photos of is my U-99 model, that I built many years ago using the old Revell 1/96 scale U-99 and U-47 kits.

Here are some more interior photos. I apologize for the crappy images; this was done long before digital cameras became available.

Welcome aboard!
Wow, that's a great model: great painting, a fair amount of superdetailing and the crew also!  8) The old Revell kit demands (too) many attentions. Been in my stash for years, i never dared building it. Very well done, Bravo!

The old Revell kit is not as bad as people think it is; the basics are there, it just needs some refinement and details added. I've seen people put as much or more work into the new Revell 1/72 scale kits, and even the Trumpeter 1/48 scale kit.
It's also the only real option available if you want a Type VIIB.
