Interesting, but not showing the original execution. The casing was normally our cargohold, packed with gear like mooringequipment, railing sqeptres, dinghy, provision, gangway in addition to HP airflasks, schnorchel pipings, ventshafts etc. and pretty cramped. On KNM Kaura some 25 30 meters of the casing was totally wiped away and destroyed during a North Sea heavy weather crossing november 1953, we had to carry out temporarly repairs in Londonderry and was limping back home. After evaluating the dammage she was considered to be scrapped, but after a major refit ended up as a training sub. The crew including me was transferred to KNM Kya ex. U 926 being a VIIC and not a VIIC/41 as U 995.
