Hi Ralf,

Fantastic shots! I've seen a couple of shots of this gun before. Can I ask where the gun is at the moment. Is it in a museum? Also, do you know if it is a full scale replica of an 88mm or an original? Any information of the origin and location of this gun would be welcomed.

Thanks for posting so many images of this exhibit.

Cheers,

Dougie

Hi,

it's in the "Deutsches U-Boot Museum, Cuxhaven" again.
As far as I know it's original; but I don't know where it's from.
the red nipples are the grease spots btw.

Sorry, but no pictures of other usefull items, except some uniforms, life wests etc.

the gun sight was interchange able regarding the side. and it was stored below (just like the binocular from the UZO)

and:

happy new year to all of You!!

I have got almost all my stuff from the net. I have over 70 blueprints and over 370 pictures mostly of late VIIC & VIIC/41 :) I am main basing my VIIC/41 from U-1105 however, with all the gear like S-Ger

I only just found this picture of U-481 this morning. It is a great view of the FuMB-29 on U-481

Have always wondered how the shells were stored...on end, packed tight? what about when not full, a lot of smashing about in there, like dropping steel bricks in a bell...

I have seen a video of the gun crew removing "rounds" from the container..They were stored "tip down"..I would think they'd have to have partitions to protect the shell and rim otherwise they would have a helluva mess after removing the first 3 or 4 rounds...Anybody know for sure ?  ???           ..BILL

Ahh, if you've seen tip down, then yes, probably wooden thingies with holes drilled in top end, maybe some "fingers" of wood between...hmmmm
