Wire and soldering paste
« on: 01 Mar , 2012, 23:53 »
I've been working with the VII-c insulators, and found some usable leader-wire from local fishing-shop. And also the picture of the soldering-paste I'm using. Mark: Multicore, made by: Henkel Ltd, HP24RQ UK . Works well in smallest wires and tiniest pieces, only the shaking hand of modeler produces problems ;)

Excellent info. True about the hands! For the line, is that "invisible fishing line?" do you use CA/superglue to make it off?

It's stainless steel, and a bit tricky to glue with CA. So I've user small sleeves, cut from 0,9mm brass tube, and pressed them close with pliers. Time and nerve consuming, but eventually I'll get there ;D   I tried soldering, but that was too hard, because the wire wanted to disappear under torch, and soldering-iron was too clumsy. I'm raising my biggest hat to Siara, for he must have the patience of an angel, and fingers of an swiss watchmaker, to do what he has done with his boat!

Wow, really impressive detail and fine work! Yes, Siara has all those qualities. But I think you do too!
