Something Disturbing

Guys,

Today, something happened to me here at home that I did not find to be at all amusing and I found it to be a little disturbing and not only that, it got me in a little hot water.

I got something in the mail from a company from ART UNLIMITED from a P.O. Box in South Bend, IN.

My mother opened it (as she needs to with all of my mail because of my disability) and it in was a drawing of a partially nude girl with something asking for or if I wanted to receive erotic stories.

The name used was my T. Garth Connelly 'professional' name and the four digit addition to the zip code was correct.

As I don't ever visit porn sites or put my address on anything but job applications - I surmised that it had to be someone who dislikes me and knows me from my website and my online posts.

People, that stunt was not at all funny.

Garth

I doubt it was personnel, Garth. People buy lists, all the time, and send out mass mailings.
I get stuff, like that, from time to time. My smart-mouthed wife refers to it as "More junk mail, from your fans." It's annoying, but it seldom means anything.
About all you can do is, notify the delivery service (UPS, Fed-X, USPS, whoever) and have them deal with it.

Good Luck
Mike K.

Mike's right. It's like getting telemarketing calls with an unlisted/silent phone number. they just dial randomly, hitting all numbers, turned on, off, and listed or not. Mailing lists are huge, and with variable data software and printing, it's easy to get a "Dear You Middle Name Lastname", or use you as an identity.

Anyone who actually knows you will understand, and those who don't probably won't care/respond.

Hey, you might have a sideline! ;D

Telemarketers are very resorceful. Many stores, credit card companies, phone companies and even some banks will sell mailing list. So it probibly wasn't someone playing a mean joke just some sensless company trying to make a quick buck.
