U-Boot Im Focus 12
« on: 08 May , 2015, 15:16 »
Hello guys,

The newest edition (U-Boot im Focus 12) is now available. There are late war articles to mark the 70th anniversary of VE Day. Highlights this time include some great photos and artwork of Type XVIIs. There is one photo looking rearwards taken directly in front of the bow that is especially useful.

One article is on U 249 with FuMB 35. Again, good photos and artwork.

Another good one is two colour photos of a U 733 with Turm IV. It shows a slotted deck with the 88mm removed. The anti-slip strips around the 88mm have been left in place - either these have been forgotten to be removed or it has not been worth the effort to remove them.

Cheers,

Dougie

Yup, UiF #12 is excellent, like all the others in the series. I have all 12 issues, and treasure them all. It is said that #13 will also feature late-war boats. Looking forward to that one as well..

find a very detailed review last night about the decals (scale 1/72 and 1/144) published by "U-Boot im Focus" resp. "Luftfahrtverlag":

Got that set recently. Very nice decals! I will definitely be building U 438; the sharkmouth is just too cool!

Hi Gents,

"U boot im Focus 13" is on sale. The front color picture shows a very clean conning tower: "Wet paint!":

Hi Falo,

Thanks for posting about UiF13. Another fine issue. There are several fine photos of the Mittelmeerturm and an article about U 201.

The highlight for me is the several photos of Type IIs with experimental camouflage patterns. These are very rare and never published before and quite a surprise. They make for an ideal basis for painting the 1/72nd Special Navy IIA kit in a camo pattern.

Cheers,

Dougie

Hi all,

please follow the link to read a review of issue number 12:

Again I recommend "The Modeling News" as a very good source for everything about model kits.
