Hi everybody,
can someone explain to me the use of the "holes" circled in red in posted image?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Filippo.
I guess the two opening in front are the two typhones operated by LP air. The other pipe outlet seems to me could be a primitive arangement for the bridge urinal. I never saw this solution before, but it is placed aproximately where such urinal used to be, only the pipe was inside the towercasing.

Excuse Tore, but I don't know what are "typhones", what is LP air, and, about the urinal, do you mean that the hole is a urine discharge for the lookouts inside the conning tower ?
-
Filippo.
Typhones are the "hooters" for a ship and they are operated by LP air meaning low pressure air, see plate 12 of the LP.system. On the port side of the bridge was a funnel ending in a pipe usually going down inside the towercasing ending under the casing deck which could be used as a urinal by the people on watch.

Filippo.
Did you noted were also a opening on the starboard side also?

Hi Simon,
can you post a photo of that hole on starboard side, and possibly its function ?
Thanks
-
You can see the starboard opening under the letter 'n' in 'Typhone 2' on Tore picture. It's the narrow half round black shape.

Hi Simon,
it's very difficult to see the hole that you mean on Tore's image: see the photos below: which is the hoel, and which is its function?
There was also a notch to make room to this hole on wave deflector ?
Thanks in advance for reply.
