Hi,

The GATO and the Chinese type33 (1/144) are now in stand-by, the U-1299 "draft" and the Horten Ho 229 "desktop model" are almost finished...

It's time to give time for my FIRST sub in scale 1/72 : the "Seehund" typ XXVII - late version.
I bought two kits, the ICM and the Verlinden resin kit.
The Verlinden is my "upgrade" box, i will use the plastic hull for the vents and all the details.
I will use one early G7a-T1 and one late G7e-T2 Torpedos, from Schatton.

First step : the Verlinden CT and PE parts will replace the poor ICM tower.

The two kits and the torpedos :

the Verlinden PE sheet :

G7a-T1...

The first step...

The "Seehund" is like the typXXIII, a mysterious midget sub; you can find a lot of unusual versions, with different CTs (...for exemple):

Gents, i need your help : do somebody know from what year the picture is ? Or maybe the versions ?

If you have comments, opinions or... please feel free.  ;D

Hello,

Thanks rokket.

part I : the tower

I removed the tower from the hull, and i began to dig and open the vents.
I removed the "splitter" from the tower bow side ; it's not centered i'll scratch-build it when the tower will be glued on the hull.

TBC...

Thank you Ralf for the kind words.  :)

Well I take the pics in manual mode with a 9Million pix camera, sometimes during daylight, sometimes by night. It's a bit difficult with the black background, because it "absorbe" the light. The camera is fixed on a tripod, and I take the picture with a remote control.

Thank you Messieurs, very much appreciated.  :)

News from the yard :

The bow section, styrene + putty + sniffing a lot of dust...

And the "tower" ; Verlinden's PE is great, but the shape a bit strange to me. Also : as it's an old kit, the resin shrinked and there is
1 to 2 mm (!!!) size difference.
I redraw the cover and cut it in a thin styrene sheet :

That's it folks, stay tuned...
