The latch is key, and you've got much more detail than I did! Well done!  My soldering was painful, the worst forme was no flux (paste). The ony; available is a powder you mix with water, which pops and jimps as hard scab-like bits. I am used to greasey pastes, mighjt look at this japanese koki stuff. I would liek to condense your info into "soldering hints and post on the AMP website as Reference. You've done very, very well.

Thank You Rokket! My soldering is the fruit of all hard work You, and others have put in oven the years trying to solder the bits for the U-boat, and i just read the reflections, and took apropriate action. The Koki paste is THE BEST YOU CAN GET FOR SOLDERING TINY BITS FOR YOUR MODELS!
Heres anther proof that the paste works wonders:

The loops were bent with pointed tweezers, and soldered close.

Hi Siara,

Great work as usual. I particularly like your mystery appartus and the wires under the compass repeaters. Great work also with the scratchbuilt attack periscope base. I see little details on your base that are just like on U 552. Nice job!

Cheers,

Dougie

Im proud You like it. Take some going to get acknowledgement from the man behind U-557.  ;-)

I applied the Sim Ind. P240 panzer grey filter.
First coat over the whole inside of the tower, and second in crucial areas- seen under the arresting hooks.
