Hi Gents,

a few years after the theatrical run of "The boat", german television broadcast a longer tv version (three parts) in the mid eighties, accompanied by a documentation with Lothar G. Buchheim as narrator.

Last night I found this very rare docu on youtube, split in two parts (german only):

IMO a very important docu about german U Boat warfare during the WW2 because Buchheim served as war reporter for the Propagandaministerium and became later a critic of Doenitz and his conduct of war. So Buchheim rebels with his thinkings against the views of the most U boat veterans.

The docu is in german only but there is a lot of footage to be seen.

Best regards
Falo
